Some of the best ideas are the simplest...if you have a great idea for a new product or service that would address a want or need Locally, Nationally or Internationally, then here is your chance to scribble down your idea in 100 words...the best idea submitted in each of the three categores will win £100 cash.

Enter your ideas by 5pm Friday 16th December 2011.

The competition is open to any student currently enrolled on any course at Aberystwyth University.

There are THREE Cash Prizes of £100, one prize for the most innovative and potentially commercial idea in each of the following three categories:

  • NEW:   Idea for a totally new product or service, which would address a real want/need either nationally or internationally.
  • IMPROVEMENT: Idea for an improvement on an existing product or service, which would address a real want/need either nationally or internationally.
  • ABER BUSINESS: Idea for a new business (either “for profit” or community enterprise) that would address a real want/need in the Aberystwyth area.

A prize will be awarded to the best idea in each category, which is judged to have the best combination of:

  • Innovation
  • Commercial Potential
  • “Star Quality”

This competition is being held in order to stimulate the generation of new business ideas (both definite business propositions and/or ideas purely at the “concept” stage) and to promote the University’s support for students with good ideas.
