Pension Schemes - Allied and Support Staff

Allied and Support Staff employed on contracts of three months or more are eligible, immediately on starting their employment, to join the Aberystwyth University Pensions and Assurance Scheme (AUPAS), the occupational pension scheme provided by the University.

Unless a member of staff declares in writing a wish not to be a member of AUPAS, he/she will automatically be deemed to be a member and contributions will be deducted accordingly.

The cost of providing the Scheme is calculated by professional advisers to the Trustees. After deducting the members’ contributions (currently 6.35%), the University pays the balance of the cost. A contracting out certificate is in force in respect of AUPAS.
