Welcome to IBERS Farms

As farms manager it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the IBERS farms. The farms work closely with suppliers and buyers to address the problems facing today’s food producers, and form a link between science and the industry.
The institute farms a total of 1000ha in and around Aberystwyth and runs dairy, sheep and beef enterprises in addition to being heavily involved with high profile research projects such as Prosoil and the sustainable lamb production project.
As an institute farm our remit is to provide the best possible resources for research and teaching that will benefit the agricultural industry as a whole, while developing a sustainable model of milk and meat production that will allow us to operate the farms profitably.
The ongoing investment in infrastructure and facilities on the IBERS farms are a testimony to the commitment and faith of the Institute to and in the agricultural industry.
