Extended weekend opening hours in the Hugh Owen and Thomas Parry libraries during Semester 2 exam period

During the weekends of 19/20 May and 26/27 May 2012:- the Hugh Owen Library will extend its opening hours an additional 2 hours to be open 10am-8pm on the Saturday and the Sunday.
- the Thomas Parry Library will be open from 12pm-4pm on the Saturday and the Sunday.

Information Services: Summer Vacation opening hours and loans

Information Services wishes everyone an enjoyable break.
Opening hours:
Information Services (IS) will operate vacation opening hours from Wednesday 6th June until Sunday 24th September 2012
· Hugh Owen Library: Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.30
· Thomas Parry Library: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 09:00-17:30, Wed 09:00-17:00
· Physical Sciences Library: Mon-Thurs 09:00-1:00, 14:00-17:30, Fri 09:00-13:00, 14:00-16:00

IS and all libraries will be closed on Monday 4th June, Tuesday 5th June and Monday 27 August 2012.
The Hugh Owen Library will be open from 10am to 6pm every weekend in September.

New rare book displays in the Hugh Owen and Thomas Parry Libraries

Come and see the new rare book displays in the Hugh Owen and Thomas Parry Libraries. Maps by Nicolas de Fer one of the great map makers of the late 17th century are displayed on level D and contemporary accounts marking the assassination of the Prime Minister Spencer Perceval in 1812 on level F in the Hugh Owen library. While items marking the anniversaries of the birth of Joanna Baillie the Scottish poet and dramatist, and the poet Robert Browning are displayed in the Thomas Parry Library.

Midnight opening at the Hugh Owen Library Monday - Thursday

The Hugh Owen Library will continue to extend its opening hours to midnight on Monday –Thursday during term-time, starting Monday 23 April 2012. These opening hours will continue until the end of term to provide more access to study spaces and IS resources to students and staff.
