Research Assistant -AND (Anglo-Norman Dictionary Project)
Jennifer Gabel studied Romance Linguistics and Literature (French, Spanish) and German Linguistics and Literature at the Johannes Gutenberg Universität Mainz and the Université de Bourgogne Dijon. She graduated in 2008 with Magister thesis on the Old French Case System.
She is currently working for a project funded by the AHRC and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Within the context of this project, she is preparing her doctoral dissertation and working for the Dictionnaire étymologique de l'ancien français in Heidelberg (DEAF, 2009/2010) and the Anglo-Norman Dictionary in Aberystwyth (since 2011). For her doctoral thesis, she is editing and preparing a lexical analysis of an Old French crusade poem based on Baldric of Dol’s Latin First Crusade Chronicle, under the supervision of Thomas Städtler (DEAF) and David Trotter (AND).
