Single Honours R900 Degree Scheme - Three languages :

The European Languages degree is designed to allow you to study three European languages. You study two languages at major level and one at a minor level. Advanced courses in all languages are available. Beginners' courses are available in all languages offered by the department (French, German, Italian, Spanish). The period of study is four years. The third year is spent abroad, normally in countries where the two major languages are spoken. After year 1 you normally take 50 credits in each of your major languages and 20 in the minor.

Level 1 (Year 1) :

The normal pattern in the first year of the course is to study the two languages taken at A level and a beginners' language course in a third language. If, exceptionally, you have only one language at A level, then you study that language and take a beginners' language course. You postpone studying the third language until the second year of the course.

Full details of the scheme can be obtained consulting the Degree Schemes Database.
